The School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of International Relations and Diplomacy of Anglo-American University are happy to announce a call for papers for the 4th Annual Anglo-American Studies Roundtable!

This year’s theme will be “A Republic, if You Can Keep It.”

The focus of the Roundtable will be on the role of civil engagement in the health of American democracy. We welcome papers/presentations on topics relevant to this focus, such as (but not limited to) voting and elections, the role of protest, grassroots initiatives, political extremism, news and fake news, the role of social groups and organizations, the importance of local and state politics.  

Slots at the Roundtable will be for 15-minute presentations, followed by discussion.

Please send a 250-word abstract outlining the paper/presentation along with a short biographical paragraph by June 30, 2023, to George Hays II (george.hays@aauni.edu).

The selection will be announced by July 7, 2023. Those selected will be asked to submit their paper/presentation by August 18, 2023, so that discussants may read and prepare comments.
