Anglo-American University Unveils Three New Degree Programs for 2025
Anglo-American University (AAU) has announced the launch of three new degree programs, set to begin in the fall semester of 2025—the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts in International & European Legal Studies, and Master of Arts in International Business & Policy. These represent an exciting expansion of AAU’s interdisciplinary offerings and are designed to position graduates for success in the areas of mental health, law, business, and policy making.
The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology: a Foundation in Mental Health
The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology will provide students with a comprehensive education in psychological theories and methods, effectively preparing them for roles in counseling, social services, human resources, marketing, research, and much more. The Psychology program is an excellent choice for aspiring psychologists and for professionals looking to apply psychological knowledge to other fields.
Curriculum Highlights
Students will explore key areas of psychology, such as perception, cognition, motivation, emotion, and consciousness, while also learning how these processes evolve throughout the human lifespan. Coursework will emphasize not only theory but practical application in the form of psychological assessment techniques, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and interviewing skills.
Another essential feature of the program will be its alignment with the European Certificate in Psychology (EuroPsy), which supports students in meeting the qualifications recognized across Europe for professional psychological practice. This alignment will promote a high-quality curriculum and provide a pathway for students to pursue the EuroPsy certificate after completing a master’s degree.
Czech and English Language Courses
To accommodate both international and local students, the program will also offer courses in either Czech or English during the first year.
Career Possibilities
Graduates will find a wide variety of career paths available to them, to name a few:
- Educational counseling, working in schools to support counseling services and the mental health of students
- Human resources, managing recruitment, employee training, and organizational growth
- Research, assisting in the collection, analysis, and processing of data in research studies
- Marketing, applying psychological principles to collect and analyze data on consumer preferences and behavior
And for those seeking further specialization, the program will provide an excellent foundation for master’s-level studies in clinical, organizational, or developmental psychology.
Dr. Karen Grunow-Hårsta, Dean of the School of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences“A foundation in psychology is invaluable across multiple domains. It helps us understand human behavior, societal norms, cultural differences, and group dynamics. This understanding can in turn improve our personal and global relationships. And as mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and stress become more prevalent, psychology will play a vital role in understanding the causes, effects, and treatments of these conditions. With the power to help address mental health issues, we can improve personal well-being and enhance social cohesion.”
