This month:
The Russian buildup of forces in and around Ukraine over the past several weeks has raised concerns and questions regarding security and the very notion of the current international system. Clearly at issue are the perceptions of security for Ukraine, NATO, and Russia. Also at issue, though, are the questions of what sovereignty actually means and the value of international law. Are states equally sovereign, or are some “more sovereign than others”? Is international law anything other than the will of the currently more powerful? Where is the line between hybrid warfare, conventional warfare, and does it make a difference? What are the consequences of this crisis for other regions? Come discuss these questions and ask your own.
Come discuss these questions and ask your own! The lead professor will be AAU Lecturer, George Hays II, Chair of International Relations.
Please note that due to pandemic mitigation regulations by the Czech government:
