Each month, come to Café Des Taxis to have a drink and discussion with professors and other experts about important events happening in the world. Share your questions and your views, and join the long tradition of politics in the pub.

This month:

Serbian students started their protests after the tragic deaths of 15 people caused by the collapse of the canopy at the train station in Novi Sad. The students have 4 requests, one of which being that the documents concerning the station’s reconstruction be made public. None of their requests are political, and they do not cooperate with any political parties. They claim to simply want to change the system that allows corruption and crime. Is their fight utopian or realistic? What should they do to succeed in their quest for justice? What influence can this student-led movement have on the rest of the Balkans and Europe? What can we learn from their concept of student forums/direct democracy? Come discuss these questions and ask your own.

The lead professor will be Olgica Mitošević, AAU Library Specialist.
