This month: The Politics of Climate Change

Climate change is an issue of extreme importance and growing worry. The last year has seen increasing attention being paid to it in public discourse, even while the hopes of the Paris Agreement seem to fade. Often, climate change is discussed in terms of acknowledgment or not of the scientific data. As the Paris Agreement shows, however, the politics need to be taken into account as well. Why is climate change such a seemingly difficult political issue? How is it politically beneficial to deny scientific proof and overwhelming personal experiences? Is there any hope for a political change? Come discuss these questions and ask your own.
The lead professors will be George Hays II, Chair of International Relations at AAU.
