Professors in the Pub: Europe’s Challenges

Professors in the pub_ europe’s challenges

Café des Taxis

Each month, students are invited to Café des Taxis to have a drink and discuss important world events with professors and subject-matter experts. Come and share your questions and views and join the long tradition of politics in the pub!

This month:

Europe faces growing internal and external pressure, hindering its integration and cooperation. The US’s reduced role, Russia’s war, and economic reliance on China are key factors. Internal divisions and EU challenges contribute to its reluctance to expand membership.

Can Europe overcome these obstacles and maintain its global influence? Will greater integration or national focus serve Europe’s best interests? How can the EU address its divisions and pressures while promoting stability? What are the potential positive and negative outcomes for Europe’s future?

Come discuss these questions and ask your own.

This month’s Professors in the Pub will be held on October 10, 2024, at 6:30 pm, in Café des Taxis.

The lead professor will be Roman Oeschger, founder of the Forum for East-Central and Southeastern Europe, and AAU alumnus.
