This month:

When Russia invaded Ukraine, some analysts turned their gaze to China to see if it would move against Taiwan. So far, the strait has been relatively quiet. Now, China finds itself between the appeals of Russia and of the West to play a decisive role in the resolution of the war. So far, China seems non-committal. What lessons will China learn from Russia’s actions and the West’s response? Will China take a decisive position on the war and try to impact its outcome? Will these be the final steps in China’s rise to Great Power status, and what would that imply for the fortunes of Taiwan?

Come discuss these questions and ask your own! The lead professor will be Pamir Sahill, Lecturer of the School of International Relations.
