Meet the Ambassador: Alan Gibbons

The Ambassador of Ireland to the Czech Republic, Alan Gibbons, will come to AAU on April 23, 2024 to reflect on the Irish experience of EU membership and what it may have to tell us about the Czech experience as an EU member state.

Addressing topics ranging from high politics and economics to citizen opinion and awareness, Ambassador Gibbons will also look ahead to future prospects and consider what Ukrainian membership might mean for Czechia and the wider EU family. 

The lecture, which will be moderated by Chairman Gerald Power, will start at 3 pm, in room 2.07, and be followed by a Q & A session as well as a period of relaxed discussion and mingling. This is a remarkable opportunity for students, faculty, and alumni to gain direct access to an international diplomat of note.
