Feminist, Researcher, Politician: a Lecture and Q & A with Michaela Marks Tomin

Spokesperson Michaela Marks Tomin will give a lecture at AAU on April 8, 2024, from 3 pm to 4:30 pm in room 2.07. Tomin is an expert in the fields of equal opportunities, social and family policy, and children’s rights. She will speak about her life in politics, time as the minister of social affairs, and her work in human rights.

Tomin led the nonprofit Gender Studies Centre and was involved in several other projects focusing on the status of women and men in society. She served as minister of labor and social affairs from 2014 to 2017 and, from 2019 to 2020, as first deputy minister at the ministry of foreign affairs. Later, Tomin worked for the organization WOMEN FOR WOMEN, and, since December, has been the director of the newly established SOLVO Institute.
