“It’s Not A Phase!” explores the connections between tattooing and traditional art forms such as painting and sculpture, highlighting the ways in which tattooing can be seen as fine art in its own right. The works on display include a range of pieces, from sculptures to intricate paintings and, of course, stunning examples of tattoo artistry. By bringing together these different art forms, the aim is to challenge traditional notions of what constitutes “fine art” and to demonstrate the technical and creative skills that are required to produce exceptional tattoo designs.

This exhibition is a collection of artworks by Martina Drozd Smutná, Darina Molatová, Daniel Ackroyd, and Stacy S. Tattoo, curated by Madisen Fawver and takes place on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 6 PM in Reunion Gallery.

The exhibition is tied to the curator’s bachelor’s thesis on Tattooing As A Fine Art. The works on display include a range of pieces, from sculptures to intricate paintings and stunning examples of tattoo artistry. By bringing together these different art forms, she aims to challenge traditional notions of what constitutes “fine art” and demonstrate the technical and creative skills required to produce exceptional tattoo designs.
