A Discussion w/ Radio 1 DJs Jana Kománková & Douglas Arellanes

Author and DJ Jana Kománková will be at AAU on April 11, 2024 to discuss her book, Radio 1: Life on the Air, as well as her time at Radio 1. The even will commence at 6:30 pm in the Art Studio (room 1.31).

Life on the Air, which was published in Czech last October and traces the storied history of Radio 1, the country’s first privately-owned commercial radio station, is now already in its third edition.

AAU’s Douglas Arellanes, who has himself operated as a Radio 1 DJ since 1993 and contributed a chapter to Kománková’s book, will also be there to discuss his own experiences at the radio station.

Following this discussion, there will be a special audio/video afterparty with Sound Bricks’ DJ duo Radio Eclectica: The Eclectic Electric (featuring Anthony Marais with Jan Tompkins). Refreshments will be provided.
