2023 Alumni Holiday Mixer

Happy Holidays, AAU Alumni!

We cordially invite you back to the beautiful Thurn-Taxis Palace for a festive evening of connecting with friends, old and new, at the 2023 Alumni Holiday Mixer.

Join us for an unforgettable experience as we welcome two very talented musicians, Juraj Škoda from the Czech Philharmonic and Pavla Tesařová, a soloist who has played for some of the most renowned Czech orchestras, for a special violin and cello performance (sneak preview here). Enjoy a selection of drinks and refreshments while listening to the works of Bach, Saint-Saens or Dvořák!

The event will take place on December 8, 2023, from 6 pm to 10 pm, in rooms 2.07 and 2.08. It is open to alumni, faculty, and staff but please let us know if you are coming by signing up via the registration form before December 4, 2023.  Plus-ones are welcome. 

This year we are proud to feature and support Život v kufříku (Life in a Suitcase), a charity co-founded in 2015 by School of Humanities and Social Sciences alumna Martina Wojtylová Opava.

Životu v kufříku, which received the 2023 European Citizen’s Prize, works with doctors and nurses in 63 hospitals to help abandoned babies preserve their earliest memories, allowing them to find their own identity and roots once they grow up. You can read more about their work here. All monies raised at the event will be donated to the charity. 

The recently-launched merchandise department will also be on site plying their wares! Pick up official AAU products for family and friends as Christmas gifts or buy something nice for yourself. Choose from 100% cotton apparel and reusables made from recycled and biodegradable materials.
