Hieu Nguyen is from Vietnam. She is currently a 4th year PhD candidate at the Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education (CERGE-EI). She received a Master of Arts in Economics from CERGE-EI in 2022 and graduated with a Master of Science in International Investment and Finance from Bournemouth University in 2016.
Her research interests are mainly in environmental economics and political economics, with a focus on developing countries. She is also eager to conduct research in the fields of development economics and financial economics.
Hieu has some experience working in both academia and various industries, having taught statistics and microeconomics at RMIT University and worked as a financial analyst in a securities company in Vietnam. During her time in Czechia, she also worked as a teaching assistant on several economics courses at CERGE-EI and the Institute of Economic Studies.
