Christelle Havranek

Havranek is chief curator at Kunsthalle Praha. She holds a French postgraduate diploma (DEA) in art history, criticism and conservation from the University of Rennes 2. From 1999 to 2016, she was curator and head of programmes for the gallery and cinema at the French Institute in Prague.
Since 2016, she has been responsible for developing the dramaturgy of Kunsthalle Praha, where her recent curatorial activities have included site-specific installations and new commissions such as the Façade Project series (2017-2021), the Living Kunsthalle performance night (2019), and Mark Dion’s Cabinet of Electric Curiosities (2021).
Havranek has also curated Gregor Hildebrandt’s first major retrospective (2022-2023) and Chiharu Shiota’s exhibition The unsettled soul (2024-2025). She co-curated Kunsthalle Praha’s inaugural exhibition, Kinetismus: 100 Years of Electricity in Art (2022), READ by Elmgreen & Dragset (2023-2024) and Lucia Moholy: Exposures (2024).
Havranek is the editor and co-editor of several publications. At AAU, she teaches curatorial studies.
