David Vaughan is a broadcaster, journalist and university lecturer. He teaches History of the Electronic Media at AAU’s School of Journalism. He is author of “Battle for the Airwaves” (2008) on the role of the media in the run-up to WWII and of the documentary novel “Hear My Voice” (2014), which was awarded the Czech Book readers’ prize in 2015.
For eight years he was editor-in-chief of Radio Prague and previously he was the Prague correspondent of the BBC, travelling widely in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine. He has won national and international awards for his radio documentary work. He presents Radio Prague’s regular book programme, “Czech Books”.
His AAU students’ pioneering work in the Czech Radio archives has been the subject of a number of radio documentaries.
