Description | This course is concerned with the fundamental concepts that underpin land ownership in England and Wales, and the law that governs the creation, protection and transfer of estates and interests in land. Specifically, this course will explore: (a) Introduction to Evidence. (b) Preliminary Issues & Key Concepts. (c) Burden & Standard of Proof. (d) Right to Silence & Adverse Inferences. (d) Confessions. (d) Illegally & Improperly Obtained Evidence. (d) Hearsay. (e) Character Evidence. (f) Witnesses. (g) Trial Procedure & Witness Testimony (including in Sexual Offenses cases) (h) Corroboration & Identification. (i) Expert Evidence. In the process various important cases and statutes will be covered. |
Learning Outcomes | Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: – Know and understand English property law (land law); – Pass the University of London LL.B. examination. |
