The AAU Library in cooperation with the School of Journalism, Media & Visual Arts would like to invite you to an Evening of Literary Readings - Seth Rogoff, David Vaughan and Tereza Novická .

Seth Rogoff is the author of the novels First, the Raven: A Preface (Sagging Meniscus Press 2017) and Thin Rising Vapors (SMP 2018). His shorter work has appeared in, among others, the journalsCagibi, Epiphany, Eclectica, and Rain Taxi. He has translated works by Franz Kafka, including the novel The Castle (Vitalis 2007) and was a Fulbright Scholar in Creative Writing in Berlin, Germany in 2006–2007. He is also a lecturer for AAU's School of Journalism, Media & Visual Arts. He will be reading a selection of pieces from First, the Raven and his work in progress.

David Vaughan is a broadcaster, journalist and lecturer for AAU's School of Journalism, Media & Visual Arts, and Prague College. He is author of the study Battle for the Airwaves (2008) on the role of the media in the run-up to WWII. He will be reading from his documentary novel Hear My Voice (Jantar 2014), which was awarded the Czech Book readers’ prize in 2015.

Tereza Novická is a California-born literary translator based in Prague. She has translated a number of Czech and Slovak poets into English, including Sylva Fischerová, Olga Pek, Ondřej Buddeus, Nóra Ružičková, and Jan Škrob. She is the co-translator of Vítězslav Nezval’s The Absolute Gravedigger (awarded the PEN/Heim Translation grant in 2015) and the forthcoming Woman in the Plural. She will be reading from her translation of the novella Aviaries by Zuzana Brabcová.
